Why are Republicans trying to cause a double dip recession with more middle class spending cuts?

Obama has already signed into law the largest spending cut in history and we are seeing increased unemployment because of that Republican economic hostage taking. It seems Republicans are only concerned with what effects the wealthy ie. bond rates, inflation, deficits. Not what effects the middle/working class ie.unemployment and wages.
