Anyone know about tanning lotions?

It's summer time, and as much as I love the heat and sun I'm very self-conscious about my extremely pale skin. I can bask in the sun all day and I still look like I've never seen a drop of sunlight in my life besides of the freckles I gain. Is there anyone like me that's tried a tanning lotion that works well for pale skin? I've tried dozens of sunless and they all have made me streak.
