Belly Button Piercing & Sunless Tanner?

I've recently started using a self-tanning bronzer lotion. I have had my belly button pierced twice before, and I want to get it done again. But I was wondering...would the sunless tanner cause infection to the area? I would be extremely careful when applying the tanner so as not to rub it over the piercing or anything like that.
